If you were looking for an easy and free way to share files between more Android devices, SPRiiD is an app that will surely catch your interest. SPRiiD is free and it does not require any extra transfer costs. Its interface is extremely quick. The Android phones you want to use in the transfer need to have both their Wi-Fi turned on. Nowadays almost all Android devices have a Wi-Fi receiver, yet if your phone’s Wi-Fi isn’t working, you can still transfer files through a 3G connection. In this case you should note that file transfer generates internet traffic unless you have a 3G flatrate, the traffic will be billed by your mobile internet provider.

But as I already said: normally there’s no need to use the 3G connection, since almost all present phones have a Wi-Fi Adapter. SPRiiD lets you share any file from your SD card with SPRiid users from all across the globe.

How SPRiiD works is quite simple: install the SPriid Android app from the Android Market and make sure your phone is connected to the internet. Create you SPriiD login, select the file you wish to transfer and select the receiver. The app uses direct device-to-device sharing, this is what makes the transfer so quick comparing to other file sharing services.

SPriiD also comes with a built in image editor and a gallery through which you can access all your transferred files. Below I have attached a few screenshots, so you can get a better look at SPriiD. The app is currently in BETA version, but as far as we tested it, there were no major bugs or malfunctions. If you want to download SPriiD Beta you can find it on the Android Market for free.

Tasker is a simple, free app for Android which is quite impressing and captured my attention through the astonishing possibilities it can open up. It automatically executes various sets of instructions depending on the context you define: the day, month, time, event or any other information you choose.

Basically Tasker is able to do absolutely anything, but so that you understand, just let me give you a few example. With Tasker, your Android phone can:

- automatically play your favorite tune when you plug in the headphones.
- send SMS on your friend’s birthday- configure WiFi to be automatically turned on in locations where WiFi networks are available. In these situations your 3G signal can be turned off, saving you a lot of battery power!

These just a few example, but depending on the conext you chose, the trigger and the action, Tasker can configure your Android smartphone to complete almost any task and this will help you save a lot of time and organise your life more easily!

Tasker 1.1.1 has just been released in Oktober, it costs 6 USD and it is totally worth the money. Besides this, developers are looking forward to add other features and make it even more impressing. The app can be downloaded from the Android Market, free 7 day trials are available in case you want to test the app before buying it.

The question you’re probably asking yourself: is this thing legal? In some countries it is, in most of them it’s not! But the thing is, no one can’t find out that you’re using this app. So if you’re just looking to have a little fun, install the Police Radio Scanner on your Android phone and have no worries.

Many of you probably wanted to ask this question at least once: can I connect my PC to the internet through the an Android Phone’s GPRS/EDGE connection?

The answer is yes and it’s pretty simple. Some clever guy came up with this really cool Android software, called PdaNet. PdaNet needs to be installed on your PC and on your Android Phone, after that it allows you to connect the PC to your phone’s GPRS/EDGE network.

This is pretty cool, as specially for those of you who travel a lot. When you’re on a train ride, you can always pull your laptop out and start browsing internet pages, reading news and writing emails.

Check out the official web page and download the PdaNet trial version for free. If you are satisfied with it, you can later upgrade to the PdaNet full version, which costs $23.95.

What can possibly be cooler tha turning your Windows Phone 7 into a remote control? This is exactly what the app, I’m about to introduce you to, does: PC Remote. Multiple commands can be integrated into your Windows Phone 7. For example you can turn the touch display into a touch pad and move the mouse cursor with your finger. Also you can turn the display into a keyboard and input any message or even write emails through your phone.

But I bet PC Remote becomes far more interesting and useful when it comes to multimedia. Through this application your can easily control your PC’s volume, navigate through current playing songs (stop/pause/play/next/forward etc) and even reset or set your PC into Hibernate Mode.

PC Remote was recently updated to 2.0, the new version brings many bug fixes and some very useful PC comands.

Download PC Remote now directly from the WP7 marketplace.

Android Assistant is a free Android app which consists of 12 easy accessible features through which you can manange and change some of the most important settings in your Android. Withing this application we found and tested very useful functions such as an app killing tool, a cpu mananger and many more. Below are are 12 features ~ I like to regard these as 12 reasons why you should get Android Assistant.

1. Monitoring status(cpu, memory, battery) – you can now exactly what resources your phone is consuming and how much battery you have left. Right below the monitor you find the “Quick Boost” button, which will automatically kill unnecessary apps and free some of your phones resources.

2. Process Manager – this tool actually replaces the Android Task Killer app. View all current running Android apps, select some or all of them and then close them!

3. Startup Manager – through this you can kill useless apps in the startup and this way free memory, speed up your phone and save battery.

4. Startup time – analyze the system loading time and third-party apps loading time.

5. Startup Silent – mute on startup and shutdown, so you avoid disturbing other. Very useful as specially when you are on meetings or at school, during class.

6. Batch Uninstall – view all installed apps and uninstall the ones you want.

7. Volume Control – manage and set set different the types of volume (microphone, ringtone, music player volume etc).

8. Ringer – this is used to turn the Ringer mode on;

9. Battery use – in my opinion this is one of the most useful tools within Android Assistant: view the application’s battery use, see which apps are consuming most of the phones battery power and close them.

10. Save Battery Settings – turn off features and modules you don’t use: bluetooth, wifi, gps, auto-sync, orientation, haptic feedback, brightness, outtime to save power.

11. Cache Cleaner – easily remove the cache files.

12. File Manager – browse the SDCard/MiniSDCard, manage your files in any way you want: rename, delete, cut, details, search, new file, new folder, view files.

And here’s a 13rd reason why you should get Android Assistant: it’s free! Go streight to the Android Market and install this app on your phone. I strongly believe this is a MUST HAVE for all Android users.
