If you were looking for an easy and free way to share files between more Android devices, SPRiiD is an app that will surely catch your interest. SPRiiD is free and it does not require any extra transfer costs. Its interface is extremely quick. The Android phones you want to use in the transfer need to have both their Wi-Fi turned on. Nowadays almost all Android devices have a Wi-Fi receiver, yet if your phone’s Wi-Fi isn’t working, you can still transfer files through a 3G connection. In this case you should note that file transfer generates internet traffic unless you have a 3G flatrate, the traffic will be billed by your mobile internet provider.

But as I already said: normally there’s no need to use the 3G connection, since almost all present phones have a Wi-Fi Adapter. SPRiiD lets you share any file from your SD card with SPRiid users from all across the globe.

How SPRiiD works is quite simple: install the SPriid Android app from the Android Market and make sure your phone is connected to the internet. Create you SPriiD login, select the file you wish to transfer and select the receiver. The app uses direct device-to-device sharing, this is what makes the transfer so quick comparing to other file sharing services.

SPriiD also comes with a built in image editor and a gallery through which you can access all your transferred files. Below I have attached a few screenshots, so you can get a better look at SPriiD. The app is currently in BETA version, but as far as we tested it, there were no major bugs or malfunctions. If you want to download SPriiD Beta you can find it on the Android Market for free.

Yet there are some newer apps that have been recently developed and in the near future they might not only compete with Astrid Tasks, but they might also become better. Any.DO To Do List is one of the most promising to do list apps.

Its biggest advantage is that just as Astrid, the app is free! There are no costs associated with using this app. The app is incredibly intuitive, it helps you get your things done and keep informed about your future tasks and appointments.

The really cool thing about Any.DO is its compatibility to voice recognition. Tasks can easily be saved, delayed or canceled by voice detection. Just speak your mind and Any.DO will be your assistant and life organizer.

To convince you of the really intuitive and light design, above we have attached some screenshots of Any.DO To Do List for Android. Try it out and let us know how your experience was. Which one do you think is better: Astrid Tasks or Any.Do?

Speak out your mind and your phone will fulfill your wishes! Alice is one of the most successful voice command apps for Android. Last year we wrote a short review about Call Master, an easy to use app, quite reliable when it comes to call commands. Alice Voice Command is capable of understanding and completing a far wider range of tasks and operations. Besides call commands, here are some features:

Write and send SMS and Emails;

Update your Facebook status;

Start and close Apps;

Translate words and sentences;

Ask questions to the Chatbot (I have to say this isn’t very useful but it’s quite fun!);

Perform Web Search;

Turn the lamp on/off;

Many more features await to be discovered by your own hands. Voice recognition is what Alice is best at. Some say it is by far better than Siri, another very popular voice recognition app for Android. Which one is the best, is up to you to decide. Alice has been installed on over 200.000 phones and so far most of the users have posted really positive feedback. Alice Voice Command is a free app, go ahead and test it right now.

It’s not produced by Android, but this is going to rock hard the Android Market and not only: IBF Programs has just released a Steam app for Android which makes possible for the Steam users to be the first ones to find out about the game sales game sales, and also to make a summary of their Steam profile. Moreover, the users are also offered the possibility to keep up with their friends and groups from the website and even view stats of every game in part they have ever played online using the above service.

Still, the main lack of this app is that it does not allow its users to play games online via Stream, even if its built especially for this service. However, it’s creators have declared that if this app will have success, they will try to find a solution to allow their users and clients to play games. The main problem, though, is that most of the smartphones don’t meet the necessary requirements to play games, and also, it’s therefore, it’s kind of impossible for them to connect to the online games platforms and not seriously lag the other players.

As well, it’s important to know that this app is compatible with all the major Android versions, including the 2.2 Froyo version, but also the 4.0 version called Ice Cream Sandwich.
Finally, there is one more thing that needs to be said: you definitely need a Stream account to be able to access and use this application. Otherwise, you won’t be able to do too much with it.

And yes, the Android Steam app can be downloaded for free from HERE. So, grab it while it’s still hot and free, as we do not know IBF’s Programs intentions towards this software.

If you wish to gain full control over the blocked numers, senders, sms messages and calls, then it’s probably a good choice to install Call Master on your Android smartphone. Call Master has recently been launched on the Android App Market and has become already become the most downloaded apps that offers these functions and features. It allows you to filter your contacts in various ways, depending on groups, time, date.

For example you can set that all phone calls received after 11 pm should be blocked or transferred to your voice mail, now you can make sure you don’t get any unwanted calls in the middle of the night. In a similar way you can command Call Master Android to block all incoming work calls during the weekend or during your holidays.

Full Feature List for Call Manager for Android:

Very flexible list creation

Completely silent

Seven modes of rejecting incoming calls and messages

Private call and SMS sandbox

SMS delivery notification blocking

Backup encryption and password protection

Automatic text routing and replies

Wildcard filters

Creation of custom notifications

Powerful logging and sorting system

Android Call Master is free, it functions really great and this is why I strongly recommend it. Please note that it requires that you ROOT your smartphone.

“Join and share multiple photos in a snap!” – this is the slogan developers are trying to promote Photobooth, a new Photo crop and post processing app for Android. The slogan did catch my attention, this is how I landed on their website and decided to give Photobooth a try!

Photobooth for Android is as light and as brilliant as the version for Apple. It occupies merely 315 kb and works fast and smooth. After a first look everything looks like a charm! And then I uploaded some photos and really started having fun: Photobooth allowed me to combine several of my photos and then resize them at the dimensions I needed them, then it enabled me to directly post my photos to any social network: flickr, facebook a.o.

Among my favorite effects is the Photostrip: you can either combine pictures on a vertical or an a horizontal line, creating a photostrip. Photobooth Android is compatible to any +Android 1.6, it only works if installed on the phone’s internal memory.

What are you waiting for? Photobooth Android is entirely free, get it now from the Android App Market!

During the past year all kinds of tasks, terms and deadlines have started to gather in my head and a few months ago all these things became too many for me to remember. I came to the point where I decided to bother my phone’s memory and store all of my tasks and appointments on my android smartphone. So I started using the pre-installed task / todo list app, that came with Android Froyo. If you have only few entries and you don’t plan to export or backup anything, that the pre-installed app should work just fine for you.

Me, I wanted to import all of my entries into Google Mail and be able to add, edit and check tasks from my desktop pc as well. Out of all todo list apps I’ve tested, Astrid Tasks was in my opinion the best and most stable one.

Astrid Tasks is completely free and you can set the app to remind you of one time events and repeated events for as many times as you need to get reminded. Astrid Tasks also allows you to export information and synchronize it between multiple devices. Everything can be also done with Google Tasks, which I find incredibly useful.

Below you can see a video tutorial that can help you understand and start using Astrid Task Manager. Enjoy!
