Opera Mini 5 Beta 2

Opera Mini 5 is undoubtedly the fastest mobile browser ever created. Despite the fact that it is fully written in java, this browser brings on your htc phone a full speed browsing experience. The secret behind it’s speed is that Opera Mini uses worldwide servers to compress the data before sending it to your phone, and as result it significantly reduces the amount of traffic, an important aspect if you are on a limited data plan.

To enjoy this browser you gonna need a java platform installed on your htc, if your device didn’t came with a preinstalled one ( some of the freeware java platforms available for windows mobile are Esmertec Jbed, Jblend and Jeodek).

As a HTC touchphone owner I must say that I’m using Opera Mini daily, especially when I’m on the run and I need to rapidly access a website or my mail account. Also, it’s pretty cool that you can enjoy a fast browsing even when you are not a 3G covered area, as Opera Mini works fast even in EDGE or GPRS coverage zones.

Please note that Opera Mini 5 is in it’s beta stage, so you may sometimes experience some issues, but this should not be a problem, as this browser is absolutely free.
