How to take screenshots on Android Phones?
Quite many times I’ve been in search of an Android app for taking screenshots on my Android phone. Either I wanted to show off with an amazing scene from Angry Birds or other cool game, either I wanted to take screenshots for technical reasons: to explain others what problems or errors I encountered, so they can help me out.
I’ve done some research and I discovered that there are a few very easy ways to take screenshots on Android Smartphone. Usually you first need to install one of the following apps, they will then add to you phone the feature of freezing the screen and taking a picture of it.
Taking screenshots with Home++ – Home++ is a pretty old Android app, it hasn’t been updated in the past 1-2 years, if you’re phone is running Android 2.1+ I suggest you take a look at the other options, this is a screenshot solution for older phones. Home++ allows you to configure various commands on your phone, among them you can also change the function of your camera button and make it take screenshots every time you click on it.
Screenshot ER for rooted phones – Screenshot ER is a really smooth and quick app, unfortunately it only works on rooted Android phones. Unfortunately it has recently been removed from the Android Market, but I suggest you google it a bit and I’m sure you can find another source where you can download it from.
Taking Screenshots with Android SDK – this is probably the most stable option for taking screenshots, as Android SDK has been continuously developed and it is compatible to all Android smartphones. Unfortunately Android SDK is also the most complicated sollution, as it comes with a series of tools and features, meant to help developers build new Android apps. Among all of these features and tools you will also find the function for taking screenshots of Android screens.
So for now these are the solutions we were able to find, if you know any other Android app for taking screenshots, please share it with us!
