Touchpal is an innovative software keyboard using T+ Input technology, designed to significantly improve typing experience on touchphones. Touchpal offers 3 layouts : T+, QWERTY and phonepad; each of these layouts offer very good typing speeds and also distinct touch experiences, thus bringing some diversity in the soft input panel; it’s almost like you have not one, but three different keyboards in one single application.

I find it very cool that you can switch between these layouts by swiping your finger left or right on the keyboard. Similarly, you can adjust the keyboard’s vertical size by swiping up or down; I think that these are unique features, as by now I didn’t found any other soft keyboard with this kind of abilities ( this is not certain though; feel free to certify or to contradict this). Touchpal also has a smart mistyping correction system – for instance, it will select the correct key even if you touch the area around that key, not the key its self. The latest Touchpal version, 4.0 brings many enhancements, like improved prediction engine, with better performance and less resource consumption, perfect landscape support and improved full QWERTY design.

One thing I want to mention is that Touchpal is very fast as input method; on many touchphones, especially on those with custom roms you’ll probably experience some annoying input lags which affect not only the default WM keyboard but many other keyboards too. On all roms I tested by now, Touchpal was the only keyboard surpassing these kind of lags.

The strong part of Touchpal is it’s T+technology, with predictive input based on dictionaries (multiple languages available). This gives great speeds and typing comfort, as you’ll make less efforts when writing long texts.
